IRS Status of
Cornerstone Ministry
Cornerstone Ministry was started in
1968 as a 501c3 philanthropic, educational, and religious foundation. Our
founder and president, Jim Dewberry, is active in both building experimental
aircraft and in Christian work. Our director, Norris Anderson, has been with
the ministry for over 30 years. The IRS has determined that donors may deduct
contributions to Cornerstone Ministry as provided for in section 170 of the
IRS Code. Our current standing with the IRS can be checked by calling
the IRS at 877-829-5500 and providing them with our Tax ID number, 23-7007378.

What Happens to Your
Donation?
We give suitable aircraft projects
to missionaries and mission organizations. Others are sold and
100% of the proceeds go directly into the ministry for ministry purposes as
stated in our charter (philanthropic, educational, and religious activities).
We have an active Bible teaching ministry based on topical and expository
Power Point presentations. We also speak at apologetic conferences and
have worked over the years to bring balance to the teaching of origins in the
public schools. One of our philanthropic ministries is to regularly support
homes for abused girls in the Philippines.
The Donation Process
When you donate a project or flying plane to Cornerstone Ministry you are
entitled to the fullest tax deduction allowed by IRS. To enable you to meet
IRS regulations we provide you with two important tax documents. The first is
an official donor receipt that lists what has been donated but without any
stated value. This document shows IRS that you have donated to an IRS
recognized 501c3 corporation. The second document we provide is IRS form 8283.
You file this document with your taxes to report the value of your donation.
When
the value of a gift is $5,000 or less then only Part A is to be filled out.
When the value of a gift is over $5,000 then the donor is responsible for
filling out part B which must include an appraiser’s signature. As the
charity that receives the donation we must by law remain at arms length from
the appraisal process. The donor is therefore responsible for
contracting with an appraiser. To find an appraiser go the website

of the The National Aircraft Appraisers Association (NAAA), the Trade
Association for professional aircraft appraisers. You will be asked for
you zip code, and will then receive via email the names and contact
information of three certified appraisers in your area. We also supply
a Deed of Gift that you sign to transfer ownership to Cornerstone Ministry.
This document serves the same function as a bill of sale. An extra copy of
the deed of gift will be included for your files.
We try to solve concerns about liability in two ways. First, whenever
possible, we give a donor receipt for "parts pertaining to" a given project.
According to the FAA, liability is not attached to "parts". Also, upon
request, we will issue a letter of indemnification. You can see a copy

The final step in the donation process is the pick-up. We bear all expenses
for picking up a project, and try to arrange a pick-up time that will be
convenient for the donor.
Our Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the
inspired, inerrant Word of God, The only rule of faith and practice.
We believe that there is one God,
eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Deity of our
Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, his
vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and future personal
return.
We believe that salvation is by
Grace through Faith alone.
We believe in the bodily
resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, the unsaved to judgment and
eternal punishment.
We believe in the spiritual unity
of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and that they comprise the Church which
is His body. We support the local Church as God’s primary instrument for
propagation of the Gospel.
